I have taken many concealed carry courses in many state where I lived in. James course was the best course I have ever taken bar none. He has very good demeanor in administrating course. Making the course informative and asked all my questions as related to N C laws with a layman's terms. His course is run extremely well. Seeing I was instructor in another state. On a scale of 1 to 10 this course is a 11. The TIme moves very fast and he adds real life experiences the makes it very pleasurable

Absolutely a phenomenal course and instructor! James is very knowledgeable and makes the course easy to understand, while bringing in real life experiences. My family and I took This course with James this past weekend. We truly enjoyed this class! James is full of great information and real life scenarios. Safety on the range was high priority for him. He taught proper holding and how to line your sight. There were people not in our group of 10 that had never even held a gun that passed the conceal carry class with high scores because of his guidance. PLEASE do not let me forget to thank his wife for a WONDERFUL lunch! This is not a thrown together meal. Lunch is cooked with love and it shows through the taste and presentation of the food. I even left with the Mac and cheese recipe because it was AMAZING. You will not be disappointed in this class.

I went to Mr. Satterhwaite for my conceal carry a few years ago. Two weeks ago I was preparing to take the NRA Pistol Instructor course and went back for some extra training and pointers so I could met the shooting qualifications. Thank you so much, I passed with flying colors - I am now a NRA Pistol Instructor and Mr. Satterhwaite helped me do it. You're the greatest.

This is an awesome course! James keeps the class engaged and gives great real life examples to go along with the law. The class is entertaining and he makes sure you are fully prepared for the test. He and his wife have great hospitality. His wife makes an amazing full course meal (with dessert) and everything on the menu was delicious. Best macaroni & cheese I've ever had in my life! And I've had some outstanding macaroni in my day. Oh, and the meal was free! I would definitely recommend Greenville Concealed Carry if you're looking for concealed carry training.

James does an excellent job of explaining the rights and responsibilities of concealed carry. His use of scenarios, many based on real life experience, is particularly effective and engaging. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone wanting to obtain a concealed carry permit. Oh, I would pay to attend again just for the pecan pie.

I was very nervous about taking a concealed carry class as I just purchased a gun and this was my second time ever shooting! James helped me feel confident, answered questions, gave specific examples in real life situations to learn from along with the knowing the new laws that have been revised! I learned valuable information but also had fun! Sgt Satterthwaite was down to earth yet the presentation was concise and professional. Having the classroom setting and the range on the same site was great. Lunch was an extra perk and delicious. I enjoyed the class as there were a wide range of participants from young to older with experience and zero experience with guns. I would recommend this class! Thanks! Jennifer

A well organized and presented class covering the NC laws concerning concealed carry and the laws governing what actions and levels of force that are allowed by NC Law. Hand gun basics are taught to each students ability and expertise with their hand gun. Sight picture and sight alignment are taught, as well as grip and stance. The most prevalent theme that is taught in this course is SAFETY. Safety in the home, Hand gun storage, in the presence of minors, and while carrying and handling the weapon. SAFETY IS UTMOST. As a retired Law enforcement Officer from the City of Greenville, and a licensed Firearms dealer, I would recommend this course. I found it to be the best course presentation I could find and is why I took the course and qualified under his guidance.

I am former Major with Pitt County sheriff's office. I went through concealed carry class on 6/9/2012. I like to thank James for a fun and very informed class. James made what could have been a very long and boring class to a fun and enjoyable time.James answered all questions that students had with his experience and legal knowledge. James was great with students that did not have pry experience with a hand gun,he had a lot of patience and,very helpful. I could go on and on about the meal we had provided by James wife. I highly recommend this class for anyone that is interested in conceal carry. Thanks again James and to your wife for such a great meal.

As a firefighter, I haven't had time to take the concealed class. That is, until now. James arranged for a special session just for members of GFR. He was a great instructor. We really enjoyed his presentation of the subject matter. We could relate to many of his stories that he shared because we are in a similar field as his. He made the class interesting. I plan on passing his name and information along to many others that may be interested in getting their concealed carry permits.

I took a one on one class in April 2012. I was very satisfied. I haven't shot in 20 years and needed safety information as well as direction for purchasing the right type of handgun for myself. I received that and more. I would recommend this class to anyone, especially females who want to feel comfortable with a handgun. Rather than fearing the handgun, I actually enjoyed shooting. Thanks James! I plan to take the Concealed Carry class in the near future.

James, I wasn't sure if I was in a classroom or at a stand up comedy club at times! Your great sense of humor and passion makes your method of delivery for such a dry topic of state laws in Concealed Carry very enjoyable. I also really enjoyed the stories you shared that were acquired over your 30 years of experience working with the Sheriff's department. The hands-on, real life approach makes learning fun. And my goodness, your wife Cindy really out did herself on the delicious lunch and homemade banana pudding!! I wasn't sure where to take the concealed carry class, so I asked around. My neighbor is a greenville police officer, one of my best friends is a pitt county sherrif's deputy, and I have 3 AVID shooters for co-workers. I asked all 5 and all 5 gave me the same answer, James Satterthwaite. So I signed up for his class. The process is painless and works exactly as he has outlined on his web sight. His facility is excellent, the lunch served is excellent, and most importantly, his teaching and stories make a long day of class room instruction enjoyable. Even as a life long shooter and gun owner, I learned things I didn't know. If you are looking for a place to take the concealed carry class, this is where you need to take it. It's that simple.

Had never used a gun before taking this one to one class. Sgt. Satterthwaite was very thorough and clear in training. If you are looking for the best place to receive instruction and obtain a CCW Permit, you have found it here at Greenville Concealed Carry. James is an outstanding instructor and I stayed engaged throughout the course. Both men and women of all ages were present, so ladies, don’t hesitate to sign up for this course. I recommend you stay on site for lunch, you will eat some of the finest cooking anyone has to offer (Thanks Cindy!). I cannot say enough good things about this facility or James and Cindy. I completed 1 on 1 training w/ James at the end of Dec 2011. I benefitted from & enjoyed the instruction so much, I have just signed up for a Jan Concealed Carry class.
