I was very nervous about taking a concealed carry class as I just purchased a gun and this was my second time ever shooting! James helped me feel confident, answered questions, gave specific examples in real life situations to learn from along with the knowing the new laws that have been revised! I learned valuable information but also had fun! Sgt Satterthwaite was down to earth yet the presentation was concise and professional. Having the classroom setting and the range on the same site was great. Lunch was an extra perk and delicious. I enjoyed the class as there were a wide range of participants from young to older with experience and zero experience with guns. I would recommend this class! Thanks! Jennifer

Thanks,James! We had a great day today 2/23/13 at the Concealed Carry Class. There was nothing boring about it, and we learned a lot! Your class was thorough and fun! A well organized and presented class covering the NC laws concerning concealed carry and the laws governing what actions and levels of force that are allowed by NC Law. Hand gun basics are taught to each students ability and expertise with their hand gun. Sight picture and sight alignment are taught, as well as grip and stance. The most prevalent theme that is taught in this course is SAFETY. Safety in the home, Hand gun storage, in the presence of minors, and while carrying and handling the weapon. SAFETY IS UTMOST. As a retired Law enforcement Officer from the City of Greenville, and a licensed Firearms dealer, I would recommend this course. I found it to be the best course presentation I could find and is why I took the course and qualified under his guidance.

I am former Major with Pitt County sheriff's office. I went through concealed carry class on 6/9/2012. I like to thank James for a fun and very informed class. James made what could have been a very long and boring class to a fun and enjoyable time.James answered all questions that students had with his experience and legal knowledge. James was great with students that did not have pry experience with a hand gun,he had a lot of patience and,very helpful. I could go on and on about the meal we had provided by James wife. I highly recommend this class for anyone that is interested in conceal carry. Thanks again James and to your wife for such a great meal.

As a firefighter, I haven't had time to take the concealed class. That is, until now. James arranged for a special session just for members of GFR. He was a great instructor. We really enjoyed his presentation of the subject matter. We could relate to many of his stories that he shared because we are in a similar field as his. He made the class interesting. I plan on passing his name and information along to many others that may be interested in getting their concealed carry permits.

I took a one on one class in April 2012. I was very satisfied. I haven't shot in 20 years and needed safety information as well as direction for purchasing the right type of handgun for myself. I received that and more. I would recommend this class to anyone, especially females who want to feel comfortable with a handgun. Rather than fearing the handgun, I actually enjoyed shooting. Thanks James! I plan to take the Concealed Carry class in the near future.

James, I wasn't sure if I was in a classroom or at a stand up comedy club at times! Your great sense of humor and passion makes your method of delivery for such a dry topic of state laws in Concealed Carry very enjoyable. I also really enjoyed the stories you shared that were acquired over your 30 years of experience working with the Sheriff's department. The hands-on, real life approach makes learning fun. And my goodness, your wife Cindy really out did herself on the delicious lunch and homemade banana pudding!! James is an excellent instructor, his class is interesting and fun, his knowledge of handguns and the concealed laws is second to none and the lunch provided by his wife is outstanding. I wasn't sure where to take the concealed carry class, so I asked around. My neighbor is a greenville police officer, one of my best friends is a pitt county sherrif's deputy, and I have 3 AVID shooters for co-workers. I asked all 5 and all 5 gave me the same answer, James Satterthwaite. So I signed up for his class. The process is painless and works exactly as he has outlined on his web sight. His facility is excellent, the lunch served is excellent, and most importantly, his teaching and stories make a long day of class room instruction enjoyable. Even as a life long shooter and gun owner, I learned things I didn't know. If you are looking for a place to take the concealed carry class, this is where you need to take it. It's that simple.

Had never used a gun before taking this one to one class. Sgt. Satterthwaite was very thorough and clear in training. Would recommend this class strongly to a gal who wants to learn how to handle a gun properly. Sgt. Satterthwaite is very professional and takes time to answer questions.
